Please treat the stave churches with care! Many have stood for over 800 years. They should stand for at least another 800. Please do not touch the furnishings or lean against the pillars or walls. Enjoy the atmosphere and take your time!
Large backpacks and bags are not permitted inside.
Do not run or shout inside or around the stave church.
You may take photographs for personal use, but tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted inside the church.
Drones must be flown in accordance with national regulations and kept at a distance to avoid damaging the stave churches.
Eating and drinking are not permitted inside the church.
Smoking is prohibited inside and outside the stave church.
Dogs are not permitted inside the church or in the churchyard, except for guide dogs.
